Looks like I left my mark, so to speak. This is a quazi-introduction, I have already joined once before but got pushed away from the lack of 'openess' that I encountered. It still annoys me, it felt like the "owner" was just pushing his weight around, imo. It's okay to have opinions here, right?

My mini-rant aside...

I'm looking forward to meeting and conversing with new furs here, and (as long as 'the staff' dosn't get uppity again) I hope to have a good time.

Yep, it's a cub furzine. Rated G through XXX (basically whatever the artists want to draw). I wonder how much it's going to cost. Anyone else lookin' forward to it?

That is a fascinating magazine. Not into cub art myself, but I would support such a magazine and the efforts of the artists who are into that on principle alone.

Yeah, it's nice to see furs getting together and trying to help make the fandom grow a bit more. Maybe it will get as steady as Genis or something.

I can promise you no one would have remembered your previous drama had you just introduced yourself with out it, but now you have come back the way you did, I think this will liable to get you in even further trouble with the admin.

You know...saying that a link to the "Loose Change" video (which is propaganda, btw) belongs in openpaws because it's about 9/11 and 9/11 affected some furries makes about as much sense as saying a link to the CSI "Fur and Loathing" episode belongs in a Christian community because some furs happen to be Christians. HOWEVER, I am not going to lengthen the debate, so that's all I'm going to say about your little dispute.

And I'm looking forward to the cub magazine. I'm not really keen about the whole XXX thing but the cute characters on the front alone are enough to make me want to buy it. hehe So I'll probably just tear out the dirty cub stories and pictures, as those aren't my cup of tea. *hopes there aren't a lot* :P

Being a furry, does that mean you also have sex with animals? Or does it mean anything else for that matter? No.

at least this isn't hurting real kids. at least it's said it won't print anything but postive things (which i take to mean no rape) and so long as they don't have characters who are infantlike, ya can't technically say that their chars are under 18, so it's not legally kiddie... *shrug*

Opinions are ok... rudeness isn't.

Opinions are alright, but direct jabs (i.e. "as long as 'the staff' dosn't get uppity again") at others aren't... and random stuff is still liable to be treated like spam.

P.S. I am part of "the staff" and, while I didn't weight in before, I am in complete agreement with Wraith.

my aren't we opinionated furs today, i'm not even entirely sure who should be offended here. to start with he came back alluding to some problems in the past, but by no means dredged then up and was more than happy to move on without another word, and about the magazine? seriously guys and gals, if you clicked the link and didn't like it was bad mouthing it adn its content the only worth while thing you could think of to do this morning? in saying this its not important to me what happened before or what your views are on cub art or anything, if anything it seems that a community thats persecuted in teh media and by society, even if we may not like somthing, we should at least be tolerant that others have interests outside of the mainstream, artistically or otherwise. whatever those interests may be its not anyones "job" to criticize the person(s) for it, if its somthing that could present a problem, such as if in the cub art view if you thought someone may be doing stuff in real life along those lines then someone of authority should certainly be notified, but its to be left between those people to decide whether the situation rexquires further looking into, not yours. is it really that hard to be civil to each other? we, one of the most widely misunderstood fandoms out there?

I'd like to join in on this discussion. (argument?)

I'm not really _new_ to the community, but i haven't really been able to do much in terms of better getting to know it, like, attending cons or even talking to many furs. I've just sort of read news online, LJ, Wikifur..(only two that i know of, really) So far, i've learned that there's plenty of good and bad things about the fandom, or so i've read. I'm not quite sure why there's so much..yiff-related stuff in the community, or how it's so openly-admitted/advertised online. Yes, it can be a good thing, i just wonder why it seems to be a significant part of the fandom.

I considered myself "unsquickable" honestly. Blood, guts, gore, strange fetishes that i read about furs participate in, didn't bother _me_ in the least. Art depicting beastiality, unbirthing, vore.. still seem a little weird to me, but it's nothing i freak out over. I've idly browsed through Fchan without even flinching. The only time i've been squicked before though, is with "cub" stuff. Now, yeah, it's not real, it's art, and it's not human children, (maybe they have that condition where you look young but are really middle-aged or something? who can prove they don't?) it's anthros. But personally, I can't bring myself to tolerate "cub pr0n". I'm always thinking in the back of my mind that, magazines and art with XXX cub stuff is too similar to the real thing. That's gotta be real tough to explain to someone who isn't a fur, don't you agree? Babyfurs; okay, if there's no yiff or nakedness, but purely "cub pr0n", i gotta say while i don't agree insulting furs who like it and calling them pedos is okay, i surely hope that this kinda art would be kept low-key. (although i'm sure anything in the fandom is openly known about, kinda tough to hide something online) Honestly, all the yiffy-stuff in the fandom doesn't reflect well on us, but i'm pretty certain it's not going away anytime soon. But what could we do anyway? it's not like we could keep anyone from liking it and making it, so i'm guessing the best thing to do is not trash it online. "A knock is a stub", so trying to outlaw it is only going to bring it to others' attention.
